What is Moodle?

Moodle is the course management system used by MVNU. You will log into Moodle to take online courses or to access important schedule and resource information for your in-seat course. Instructors will post announcements, grades, and feedback in Moodle. Moodle courses open 1-2 weeks prior to the launch of each course.

How do I get to Moodle?

To access Moodle, go to: http://courses.mvnu.edu.

What is my Moodle username & password?

  1. To log in to Moodle, use your username, which is your last name and the first digit of your first name and middle name.
  2. Input your password; it is mvnu# (then your student ID).

For instance, if a student’s name was Bob David Smith and his ID was 1234, his username would be smithbd and his password would be mvnu#1234.

Why can't I see my course in Moodle?

Your courses should appear in the list approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the course start date. If you do not see the course within 1 week of the start date, please contact an Academic Service Specialist by calling 877-431-9610.

What browsers are supported by Moodle?

We recommend using either Firefox or Google Chrome for best compatibility.

I cannot find a reply button in a Moodle forum. What should I do?

Please contact your instructor and let him or her know the situation.

Why do I still see an old course in Moodle from a previous semester?

Courses in Moodle can be seen your entire college career. If it bothers you, clicking on the eye in the course box can hide it.

Moodle Troubleshooting
